    2. I have the same model Dorian, with the same issue. Have had the TV only 2 years and have had to replace the X-suspension board twice. Was shocked to see that it is not on the recall list seeing as the symptoms are identical. Capacitors do not have enough voltage to power TV, sounds like many people have this issue with models other than those listed on the recall. Sound like Samsung is shafting all the problems with their TV's after 2008, even though they have the same problems they were sued for the first time.

I don't understand how so many customers can report the same problem and the support tech doesn't respond to these particular questions. First (and last) time a Samsung tv will be in my house..

I'm officially done with Samsung. My Samsung LN46A630M1FXZA is one of the models in the suit. However, mine was manufactured in January 2009 and the last date they are covering is December 31, 2008. Thus, potentially one day late. Samsung is basically telling me tough shit. This is our second issue with a $1000+ Samsung product and on both occasions they have done nothing.

Earlier this year our Samsung dishwasher, that had issues from day one, died in month 13. Again, Samsung did nothing. Luckily Lowes stepped up and now we have a properly functioning KitchenAid.

I am currently in the market for a larger and more expensive TV for our basement. I can assure you I will not be getting the Samsung PN64D8000 that I have been reviewing. On to Panasonic who's reliability rates much better than Samsung.

Thus, Samsung could fix my current TV for about $150 and potentially keep me as a customer with the sale of a $2500+ PN64D8000. They are choosing not to back their product for a second time and are loosing a customer who happens to like technology. You are 0 for 2 now Samsung.

    1. I have the exact same tv you do! Mine did the same way, stopped working. Aren't we covered under the settlement? If not, we should do a class action suit that covers these newer models.

  10. Has anyone had any problems with the HDMI port? I have one of the TV's in the settlement, but my problem has to do with the HDMI port. It quit working. I can get a picture and sound with the red, white, and yellow cables, but they won't give me HD. Just standard picture. Do you think this would be covered under the settlement?

    1. If you call Samsung for service they will charge you $135 just to schedule. It's a scam. Service guy will come out, do a song & dance, then tell you it's the power supply & no parts are available, buy new TV. Hopefully, you service guy will level with you as mine did & tell you to buy another brand.

Mine took longer & longer for picture to come on-2hrs. I bought a new TV & one last time, I turned the Samsung on & the picture came on after 3 tries. No service guy knows anything & cannot diagnose it. Picture is fine all day today. So I know I'm tossing out a good TV with a minor problem. Samsung could care less about it's customers.

  21. just called Samsung for my DLP tv today 12-04-2013 , the picture is gone! I talk to a supervisor about the settlement for about an hour and 30 minutes, all she kept repeating was my TV is out warranty and the settlement ( or Recall) ended on 2011. She tried to recommend a tech center for me to bring the TV in for repair on my own expense. (refused)

I guess I will let it sit in the garage until one day it feels like giving me picture once again, its last breath, a least to say goodbye!

At least I gave it a try!

    good luck!

    Thank you Samsung!

    1. 2nd TV repair shop told me Samsung is running scam when you call for service they charge for making the appt. Service guy comes out, removes TV back, stares at it, jiggles some wires, might remove a thing or two, then tells you bad power supply. No parts available because of the lawsuit(they replace boards instead of soldering new capacitors). Then they leave. When I pressed my service guy he said not to buy another Samsung because they are unethical & don't support their products. Same experience with online chat & phone support. Samsung could care less about it's customers. I bought a new TV & tried turning Samsung on one last time, & it came on & ran perfectly all day. Yet no TV repair guy knows what the problem could be. Unbelievable.

  22. HLT6187SAX/XAA picture started not coming on. Keep cycling off/on until it eventually comes on. Time got longer until it took 2hrs for picture to come on. Samsung charged me $135 just to schedule. Service guy remove panel stared at internals- said power supply bad- no more parts- buy new TV. He told me NOT to buy Samsung again. Got power board from eBay & board was bad. Beware people selling bad boards with warranties. They are making money with returns minus shipping(TV guy told me of this scam).

Anybody got idea of problem? Turned TV on today(after sitting weeks) & picture came on after cycling off/on 3 times. Working perfectly right now. Tomorrow, will be broken again.

  27. My model PN43D450A2DXZA was having the same problem. Clicking sound and no picture/audio.
I called customer service they told me(more or less) tough. Your warranty is up. I told them that I had this tv less than 2 years. They said tough, you have to pay for the repair and labor. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they came back with the same reply. I told them that was unacceptable and asked who is the next person I need to speak with. They put me through to their executive office. The woman was professional, prompt and gave me a one time out of warranty credit to resolve the problem.
So, now I don't have to pay any labor, parts, etc. It doesn't mean the problem will be resolved, or that it won't happen again, or that they are even addressing the bigger issue of an inferior product, and an inferior response to their customers that has left a bad taste in our mouths, and tarnished their brand in our minds.
I want to watch my 2 year old tv. I used my hard earned money to buy it, and I expect it to work. If I screwed it up, then I pay to replace/repair my handiwork. If you can't stand behind your products Samsung or GM, or any other business, then you shouldn't be in that business.
    Plain and simple.
    Unite consumers, unite!!

  28. I have a 50 inch Samsung TV same issue as everyone else and Samsung wont do anything for me or anyone else. Don't buy Samsung anything! I just spent today 5000.00 on all new kitchen appliances they were all Samsung but I held out for them to call me back on my tv issue after 3 days of back and forth with them. I told them just to send me the parts for free and Id fix it myself. They told me no! They wouldn't even compromise and send me some $5.00 parts made in china to satisfy a customer. That type of company needs to be put out of business by us asap! Needles to say General Electric got my whole kitchen appliance business dropped shipped to my home by Home Depot financed for 24 months at 0 %. These two businesses have earned my business time and time again. I've only bought 2 Samsung products ever and for sure never again. The power of the internet and us as consumers can and will end Samsung's up coming future success in the U.S. market. I hope they rot in the hell hole they created!

  29. I have a 52" Samsung and the picture has been great and I love the TV. However it started not turning on but just a clicking sound. I looked on line and decided to repair it myself for less than $10. I ordered the parts and they are to be here in a few days but I think now I will call to see if mine is covered. I think I will let them fix it if they can and will. I will just be out the parts. About Samsung, I love their products and will buy another one when needed. I don't think they wanted this problem to happen and it has cost them millions of dollars.

  30. Well I just called and the voice on the line said the settlement expired in Sept, 2013. That's great. I do wonder how a person is to know about a class action suit if your TV is working fine. Mine just starting having problems. Oh well, I'll just fix my own....

  31. Samsung is a hot stinking mess !!!!! There customer service gave me the run around about the black screen and no sound problem I'm having and to top everything off they tried to tell me I had to bring the TV into one of their centers to get it repaired because it was only 32inch WTF

  32. My model LN-T4069F after 15 mins the screen shakes and begins to flicker so bad you get vertigo. It's un watchable. If you turn it off and wait for the tv to cool off it is fine then after 15mins it does it all over again. I was told the recall is for capicitators not the problem I am describing and even it if was for the recall it expired sept. 2013. They want to send a service person out but why would I pay for that when I could just buy another TV for the same price. Feeling ripped off.

  33. This may sound silly, but I just acquired a Samsung PN43D450A2D that has a broken screen. I got the TV for free in the hopes that a screen repair would be roughly around $100-$150 - not too bad if that is the one and only problem to fix. Well, I just looked everywhere for parts for it, mostly the screen replacement, to no avail until I was directed here assuming that the TV I now own might've been part of this Samsung settlement deal? This is all new to me - this crap service from Samsung or sh*t products from Samsung - until I scrolled down here reading. I feel bad for the ones who have gotten a sh*tty run around from Samsung. But I am wondering if I am missing something here about not being able to find a replacement screen for this model of TV. Why is it not out there? There's millions of other "related" crap when I do a search but nothing turns up. I just want to know quite simply if this TV can be fixed or if it's even worth it? Thank you in advance if I receive an answer - decent or otherwise.

  38. I have a 32 inch Samsung LCD TV. Today I turned it on and sparks and smoke shot out from behind and under the TV. Thank God I was home when this happened. I am also glad I was not outside in the yard when the TV was on. For sure probably would have been a fire! I immediately turned it off and it was still sparking. I unplugged the tv and obviously it stopped. My model is LN32A450C1DXZA and SERIAL # B4693CDQ902915N..Version # SQ01.. I called the SAMSUNG recall number and spoke to a very nice rep. that took all my information, but told me more or less that the recall was over on Sept. 2013. I am curious as to how a consumer is supposed to know this if there is not notification. This most definitely is a defective issue when sparks and smoke come out of a tv that has not had any issues since I bought it. I am waiting for a service rep. to call me within 2 business days to advise me of the parts they will provide to fix maybe. I have always bought SAMSUNG and also have one in my bedroom now. How this all ends will depend on the companies backing their product. There is a old saying "BAD NEWS TRAVELS TWICE AS FAST AS GOOD NEWS". I will obviously be purchasing another tv before this is rectified. Let me see " What shall I buy"! Again I hope no one has this same harrowing experience with the sparks and smoke with this model.
